Burn Restrictions run from May 2nd to October 31st of this year. Done in accordance with ND Century Code 33.01-15-04. The McKenzie County Board of Commissioners has reviewed and approved the 2023 burn restriction regulations. Click
here for the approved burn restrictions. Don't forget to review the open burn
rules and regulations.
Burn permits are required year-round!
Burn Permits are required year-round and requires the approval of the local fire department AND the Upper Missouri District Health Unit (they issue the actual permit). Please contact our office at 701.444.7483 or 701.444.7144 for more information. Our office is willing to help you obtain a burn permit.

communities with the capacity to cope with hazards and disasters by using
mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery processes. This is accomplished
by coordinating with others in emergency response, government, private sector
and community stakeholders.
