UPCOMING PUBLIC WORKSHOPS - Your Input Needed:  The Location of Future Development in McKenzie County


McKenzie County has gone through an unprecedented period of growth and development in recent years.   The County’s first plan to help get a handle on the future use of land and provide some direction to growth needs to be updated and refined.  This update to the County’s current comprehensive plan is intended to set the tone for growth through 2025. 


Two workshops will be held on the County’s Comprehensive Plan Update so that you may 1) learn about recent development trends and 2) provide your insight on where future growth should be encourage and discouraged.  All are welcome to attend! The meetings will be held . . .


·          In Alexander on Tuesday February 23 at 6 PM in City Hall located at 112 Manning Ave.


·          In Watford City on Wednesday February 24 at 6 PM in the County Courthouse (Boardroom) located at 201 5th St. NW.

The McKenzie County Planning Commission will meet the second Monday of each Month; unless this falls on a Holiday that the courthouse is closed on. In this event, the meeting will be held the following Monday. All other meeting dates and/or changes will be posted as available.  

When submitting applications, please be sure to include all agency comments that are required on the development checklist. Also- please note that this checklist is updated periodically, so make sure you have the most current one to ensure all required material is included in your application

*Applications/Submittal materials are due by the deadline in order to be placed on the following months agenda- all incomplete applications will not be accepted.
 *** No Applications will be accepted after 12:00 pm the first Friday of each month.  If the courthouse is closed on the first Friday of the month, the applications will be due the day prior the courthouse being closed. (see deadline dates under the "submittal materials for zoning" link)
