McKenzie County has an outstanding opportunity for a full time position as the Road Superintendent for the Road & Bridge Maintenance Department 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent with ten (10) years of experience in highway maintenance and management; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in construction related field and five (5) years of experience in   construction supervisor role is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum five (5) years of crew management experience is required
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License preferred, but not required
  • Experience in the operation and/or maintenance of construction equipment is preferred, but not required
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, techniques, materials, and equipment necessary in the care and maintenance of roads and road construction practices
  • Willingness and desire to learn new and challenging tasks


GENERAL DUTIES :

  • Supervise the overall administration and direction of road and bridge maintenance operations
  • Establish a time frame for projects and ensure timely completion
  • Plan the utilization of staff and equipment in accordance with work schedules
  • Plan, direct, and budget activities of the Department
  • Prepare Departmental operating and capital budgets

Salary Range $79,429 to $85,977 annual salary, DOE                   Position Open until June 2, 2017
