McKenzie County has an outstanding opportunity for a full time position as a Licensing Specialist with the Motor Vehicle Department. 


  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of administrative support experience;  or any equivalent combination of training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge of skills and abilities for this position.
  • Effective communication with the public and other office personnel
  • Ability to follow written and verbal requests
  • Aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to multi-task efficiently
  • Enjoy working with the public and other office personnel
  • Willingness and desire to learn and accept challenging responsibilities


  • Examine titles for sign of fraud, such as write overs, white out, water damage, or copies
  • Verify correct information and forms
  • Analyze request and provide directions for information by the public regarding registration, titling, motor vehicle excise tax and drive-out permits, passports, etc.
  • Receive and make phone calls, answer inquiries, route calls/arrange call backs, and schedule appointments

Salary Range: $21.29 to $23.05 per hour, DOE                                Position open until filled
