McKenzie County Building Closures
Until further notice, the McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners have approved a motion to close all county buildings to the public effective March 20,2020.
County employees will still report to work and will be conducting business by phone, email, or other technology-assisted means. We will not be scheduling appointments at this time. Below you will find information for each department and how you can still receive service.
Court proceedings at the McKenzie County Courthouse will continue to occur as scheduled. Attorneys, litigants and those with court business/scheduled hearings should contact the Clerk of Court office at 701-842-8230 or email 27clerk@ndcourts.gov for further instructions (including access to the courthouse).

– Register and title your vehicles and obtain a
passport.

Auditor/Treasurer
Office – Election information and pay property taxes.
Veterans
Service Office – services for veterans within the community.
Superintendent
of Schools – assists all schools within McKenzie County, including all 6 public
school districts and administrator of the McKenzie County Imagination Library.
Human
Resources – job opportunities and employee relations.
Human
Services/Social Services – community programs, assistance programs, child
protection services, child care licensing, foster parent licensing, home and community-based
services, and child welfare case management.
State’s
Attorney – criminal prosecution and advice to County entities.
Recorder/Tax

more, property valuations, marriage licenses, and mobile home moving permits.

Office
McKenzie County Landfill (2491 132nd
Ave NW, Arnegard): commercial
and non-commercial waste disposal, recycling of items, including E-waste and
oil.

Charge
account receipts will be E-mailed at the end of each business day to the
addresses that we currently have on file. Please provide a valid, working
E-mail address if the one we currently have on file will not work.

In
an effort to limit hand-to-hand contact cash / check payments will be taken but
we would rather use credit / debit cards.

Cash
or checks will be tendered or written in the exact amount owed and they will be
placed in the mailbox located on the stop sign on the outbound scale.

Credit
card(s) will be run via telephone call(s) through the main landfill office.
Receipts will be E-mailed upon request. Should you need a receipt immediately
the scale operator will bring it to you direct on the scale. The number to call

The
scale operator will give detailed direction(s) on how to proceed when you come
onto the inbound scale. When you drive onto the outbound scale please turn your
vehicle off so the scale operator can communicate with you.

Employees
have been directed to stay in their machines. Should someone need help rolling
loads or removing prohibited waste they will do it with the machinery. We will
no longer be on the ground pulling things out of the open trash that never
should have come here in the first place.
