There are a variety of ways you can pay your taxes:

1. In Person - McKenzie County Courthouse, 2015 5th St NW, Watford City, ND
2. By Mail - McKenzie County Treasurer, 201 5th St NW, Suite 504, Watford City, ND  58854
3. Online - by either credit/debit card or e-check.  TAXPAYER NOTICE:  There will be a convenience fee of 2.65% of the transaction amount with a minimum fee of $3.00 for all credit card payments.  There will be a convenience fee of $1.50 for all electronic check payments.

Real Estate taxes are mailed out in early December each year and Mobile Home taxes later that month.  Both are due January 1^st, but you receive a 5% discount if you pay in full by February 15.  Payments are applied to the oldest outstanding taxes first.  The 1^st half is due March 1^st and the 2^nd half is due October 15^th to avoid penalties.  (You do not receive the discount if you pay your taxes in halves or if the full amount is not paid by February 15^th.)

Properties that have not had taxes paid in 3 years will move into foreclosure.
